Art @ Your Library – Advertising Policy

  •  The Artist will provide The Woodbury Public Library with an Artist biography and/or statement, two (2) photographs of the artist’s artwork, and a photograph of the Artist (optional). These materials must be received by the first (1st) of the month preceding the artist’s exhibition month.
  • The Artist biography, two (2) artwork photographs, and photograph of the Artist (if provided) are to be emailed to the Library. Email address will be provided to the exhibiting artist by the Library Representative signatory of the Release Agreement.
  • All photographs submitted via email must be in either .jpeg or .jpg format. Title of artwork(s) should be provided with photographs.
  • The Woodbury Public Library will use the Artist Biography, two (2) Artwork Photographs and Artist Photograph (if provided) for advertising purposes.
  • The Woodbury Public Library reserves the right to use all or part of the Artist’s biography and photographs for current and future advertising purposes.
  • The Artist gives permission to the Woodbury Public Library to advertise in a variety of formats, including but not limited to: Channel 22; The Woodbury Public Library website; The Woodbury Public Library Facebook page; The Woodbury Gazette; The Photo News; The Times-Herald Record; The Delaware Hudson Canvas; flyers; brochures; signs; and other online or print media outlets as deemed appropriate.

 

 

 

Art @ Your Library – Display Policy

 

  • The Woodbury Public Library encourages artists to display their artwork for a period of four (4) weeks at the Highland Mills branch of the Library, located at 16 County Route 105.
  • Artists interested in displaying their artwork should contact the Library and are booked on a first come first served basis.
  • The Artist will work with the Library on a date and time to install the artwork.
  • Artwork should be displayed by no later than the Friday before the Artist Reception and removed before the first of the following month.
  • The artist is responsible for setting up his or her own artwork, arranging, and dismantling their exhibit. The library staff is not available to assist the artist with setting up or taking down their artwork.
  • The Artist Reception will be held on the first Saturday of the month from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. or at a mutually agreed upon day/time, as necessary.
  • The Library’s hanging system is to be used to display the artist’s work(s). No additional hooks, nails, adhesives or other fasteners may be attached to the walls of the Library.
  • The Woodbury Public Library will not charge to display artwork.
  • The Woodbury Public Library is not responsible for any artwork that is lost, damaged or stolen while on exhibit or display.
  • Sale of artwork from an exhibit is solely between the artist and the buyer. The Woodbury Public Library is not liable and will not assist in such transactions.
  • The artist will remove any items sold from the exhibit at the completion of their contracted date(s) of display.
  • The Woodbury Public Library reserves the right to decide what is appropriate for display in the presence of minors. The Library reserves the right to reject any part of an exhibit.
  • The presentation of any artwork does not imply an endorsement of the exhibit by the Woodbury Public Library, its Trustees or its Staff.
